Hi
I have Jaguar S-Type 2008
I got problem with key switch (for open and close door mobile), it was dirty inside and low battery, after cleaning it and change the battery I got light break warning (Park Brake Fault) !!
I don't know the reason and how to remove it
Thanks
You mentioned battery problems. That probably triggered your issue.
First up: Are you sure that you do have now a good battery? Did you measure the voltage (what is the measured voltage?), and did you measure the voltage under load (e.g. with the ignition in the ON position (without engine running) and with the headlights on): What is the measured voltage under load?
If that is OK, your problem may simply be of the low battery issue of your previous battery, and that you need to recalibrate - I am sure the 2008 S-Type has the EPB (Electronic Park Brake):Jaguar S-Type "Park Brake Fault" messages are typically caused by low battery voltage, a faulty Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) module, or mechanical binding in the rear calipers. The EPB system is highly sensitive to voltage drops; if the battery voltage falls below a critical threshold (often cited as 8-10 volts), the module may lock the brakes or fail to release them, triggering the warning light.
To troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue, follow these steps:
1. Reset and Recalibrate the System
If the brakes are not physically stuck, the system may simply need recalibration after a power loss or fault.
Disconnect the Battery: Turn off the ignition, disconnect the negative battery cable for 10-30 minutes, and reconnect it.
Recalibration Procedure:
Start the engine.
Firmly apply and release the footbrake five times.
Confirm the message "NOT CALIBRATED" or "APPLY FOOT AND PARK BRAKE" appears on the instrument cluster.
Lightly press the footbrake, then apply the parking brake using the EPB switch.
Release the parking brake using the EPB switch.
Release the footbrake. The warning light should turn off if the reset is successful.
Thanks for your reply
I really appreciate it
The Parking Brake is working well without any issue
The problem is the only sign of Park Break Fault show as what you see in the photo which I attached
I am not facing any kind of issue
I only need to remove it
Thanks
I just realized that I initially misunderstood the battery-part of your story: You are not talking about your 12V battery, but the battery in your remote. Actually, this should not have anything to do with the park-brake (not that I know of anyway). But regardless: Did you do the parking brake recalibration as described above?
