Exclamation s type 3.0 2008 instrument panel temp gauge

Hello everyone hope l find you all well. l am about to change my instrument panel after issues with my temp gauge playing up. the one l am swapping with has higher mileage than mine and wondered if any of you have been able to lower the mileage. l believe l have to configure the panel or reset it, not sure which, l do have a jlr sdd program, bd130. l can use l have used it before to config memory seats. Any help would be most welcome.

I'd avoid that if at all possible e.g. change the stepper over.

Have you checked via OBD that the temp as known by the PCM is correct and thus that it must be the stepper motor?

Default s type 3.0 2008 petrol

Hello, thank you for replying to me, yes l have checked that through engineering mode and the temp is ok. the gauge has flipped around to max temp and stayed there even on the gauge test and ign off. l take it that the stepper motor you refer to is the gauge ? l am more concerned about re setting the mileage on ids. l have now tested the new panel and that is now ok l still have to configure it through lds yet so ill see how l go on. Thanks for your suggestion any more help would be welcome. Regards, Frank.

I think the concern would be upsetting the security system by fitting a new cluster.
When you say you have tested the new panel is that a bench test or have you installed it?
