Ok, I have a 2006 S Type 3L Sport, she has a blown head gasket.... I also now have a 2000 S type 3L with a very tidy engine.
My question is, can I put the 2000 engine (engine only not the trans) in my 2006 sport?
If so, what are the potential/inevitable pitfalls?
Any helpful info will be much appreciated!!

There were significant changes in 2002.5/2003 including engine management systems. So, a swap would be far from "plug and play".

 

Are you going to do the work or pay to have it done?
How much experience do you or the shop doing this have with engine swaps AND Jaguar's?

If no experience be sure your ready for a failed project if something can't be figured out.
It's a definite possibility!

, I was hoping to do it myself but I do not have experience with swapping jag engines, just buying things I probably can't afford...
Maybe I will look at repairing the sport, I'd much rather have her running.... But now I have this other one, I really like it too... But the other things need done, bushes, power steering makes a noise, traction control fault, abs fault.... But fantastic engine...

Oh, I thought they were both aj30 engine....
Maybe I will repair the sport, although I suspect doing the head gasket is going to be fraught with pitfalls too?
