Yes getting the seats in or out is a pain and I wrap the door threshold with towels that I tape down to the body. Those seat tracks are like sharp knives waiting to attack your paint!
Also a bit heavy for one person so I sometimes get my wife to help removing or placing the front bucket seats.

Anyway you now have a working drivers seat! Congratulations on a successful repair!
