Default Replacing fore/aft seat motor and gearing

My driver's seat does not go fore and aft. The switch works in both directions and the motor spins, but the output shafts from the motor do not turn. Thinking of switching motor/gearing with passenger seat. Passenger seat can stay all the way back until I fix or replace. Anyone do this?

He has NOS seat motors toward the bottom of the X308 section... https://shop.everydayxj.com/XJ8_XJR_...003_s/1841.htm

So before you do that maybe you can test to see if you’re gearing‘s OK bye putting a cordless drill on the cable that comes out of the motor. If the gearing is good the cordless drill will make the seat go up and down. I went through this a month ago they’re a little bit complicated but if your motor is spinning your cable might not be in all the way

Default Update

Motor good. Bench tested. One of the tracks was jammed. Could only turn with a vice grips. Other turned by hand. The worm gear in the gear box stripped the plastic gear.
