S Type engine swap

Anyone fitted a 1998 XJ8VP motor into a 2001 S type?
I would love to hear from you if you have actiua first hand knowledge. No offense but I do not need speculation as I must act quick to buy it if it will work. Thanks

I doubt anyone has done this previously, so don't hold your breath for first hand experience....

Your '01 S-Type has an AJ-28 engine, the '98 XJ8 has the AJ-26 engine, there are a number of little differences between them.

In theory you could use the AJ-26 bottom end and heads, but a lot of little things will have to be swapped over between the two.
