Can the later model S-types with the mesh grille be retrofit with the older vertical bar grille?

 

I know of examples that have gone the other way (replaced vertical bar grill with a mesh one). So I would expect that the reverse is possible.

The headlights and other front end parts list as a group (I think only the tail lights were changed in the S-Type model run), so I assume the mounting tabs are in the same location, so the grilles should be interchangeable.

 

It'll depend on the year the front was changed slightly in 2005.

 

I put an '08 chrome vertical slat grille on my '05 STR.
