Default S-Type Jaguar electronic module needed

2000 S type Jaguar no headlights or wipers. I am told that it looks like it will be the General electronic module (Ford description)or another name given to me is the front electronic module (Jaguar description). He found several on EBay and willing to buy and try it. BUT does it fit general or have to match my Jaguar VIN to work and need reprogrammed. Can any ford garage reprogram or have to go to Jag dealership?

Welcome to the forum holiday,

I've moved your question from Jaguar Forums Feedback & Suggestion Center to S-Type forum. The Feedback & Suggestion Center is for posts about the forum.

Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Graham

Hey Jude..........

There is a main electrical connector located under/behind the front fascia that has been known to cause the issue you are inquiring about. A quick (free) check for wire chaffing or loose wire/connector would be advisable before throwing parts at your vehicle. There are many threads in the archives here.

NEVER get a module for any car until you pull the old one first and get the part number!!

Just too much variation and pay attention to the last couple of letters at the end of the part number. Most module's have a base number and then several letters to define the particular application it goes in.

Don't know about Jaguar but Mercedes was upgrading front and rear SAM modules several times changing part number. That means, up to 7 different part numbers can be used for the same car.
