Default aux heater water pump?

My son and I were replacing the dvvc, it was packed with what looks like mud. So were some hoses. The aux. water pump is all chewed up, the electric part is frayed/melted. Where can I get a new one of these? Looking all over, can't find one

Only auto parts store that I could find online that carries one is oreilly's. Called several oreilly's, they can't find it on their website. I told them I am looking at it on their site, part #5w-8005. they can't find it. What a mess.

OK, found a new and used one on Ebay, wanted one now. Oh well, I also need the pigtail that plugs into the pump, it is melted. Any ideas?

EBay for both. Make sure you get the right aux pump as they are different on the SC and norm aspirated V8's

Deleting it is an interesting thought, since the part cost 116.00. Anyone else tried this?

Deleting it on the STR would be "brave". Any overheat will be fatal.

Extremely brave indeed. I would highly advise against it...

I deleted my post, I am pretty sure I removed heater core pump on my Catera, not engine cooling pump.

I put a factory pump in. Who knows what that Dodge pump is rated at even if it fits?

Thus far (1000 miles) all indications are that the Aux Pump that fits Dodge Durango is on par with the OEM pump that was replaced.

OOOOOOOOOOOOK!. I'll ask the dumb question of the night. How do you know if the pump is running or not?

You get heat through the vents when the engine is at idle for extended periods or off when the coolant is still warm.

I'd probably use a meter (DVOM) at the relay shown in Electrical Guide

Default Aux pump opperation requirements?

I am a professional European wrench, I have an 06 S-type R. The ECM doesn't send ground signal to the control side of the relay (R7 in the engine compartment fues/relay center). I have parused all of the information available to me on AllData, Mitchell 1, and cannot find any description of the conditions for aux. pump opperation. Any ideas where to find this information. If you can piont me To it, I will take it from there. By the way, I've already tested for relay activation at the ECM, I got bupkis. All other Circuit integrity is good ( fuses, connections, wires, pump motor, continuity to the ECM, etc.)
Thanks

If you mean the aux coolant pump then it's not the "ECM" but the ACCM aka CCM (or RCCM in many cars), I think.

It's an unusual pump to be checking. Did / does the car have a heating problem? It's usually related to the DCCV and that often damages the RCCM.

It's possible you're looking in the wrong places.
