Default Air shock electrical connector

So I just realized why the Jaguar threw a CATS System Fault. It appears there may have been a rodent which took a liking to the taste of the electrical connection at the top of the passenger side air shock. Driver's side is in good condition. If the wires were longer I'd try to splice it back in line, but I'm afraid it's cut too close to the connector. I don't see a way to crack the connector open, as it appears to be sealed.

Has anyone else had to replace this part? Has anyone been able to open up or repair the connector itself?

It's a Tyco part, is there a place to get it without going to the dealership? How far back is the other end of the wire? It disappears into the engine bay.

I haven't called the dealership to price the part yet, it might even be inexpensive through them.

I finally got around to calling the dealer for the part, and they told me they could sell me the part, but in order to get it I'd have to purchase the entire strut at 1250 dollars.

So I tinkered around with it, and once the part was disassembled (rather easy, comes apart in a handful of peices with a small screwdriver), I found I had enough wire left to connect it back to the other wires under the hood. After some soldering and taping, it's as good as new. The CATS System Fault Error message and accompanying light went out upon start up, and the car rides great again.

Just a follow up for anyone else who may run into a similar issue. I saved 1250 dollars today, a trip to the dealer, and a lot of work.

Bravo! The more you improvise in these types of repairs, the longer you get to drive your Jag
