Default S-Type Look-alike

Couldn't help but notice the similarities...
Especially from the back and rear quarter angles

Just an observation

Yes, I thought the early Hyundai's were complete ripoffs of other auto makers' designs, including Jag.

Default Endless

This endless quest of mine for the perfect S-type has lead to many
Hyundai dealerships. I have thought it is to show the potential Hyundai customers exactly that.

heh... i too have always noticed the many similarities between the S-type and the hyundai sonata/kia amanti...

As if hearing how the S' 'looks like a ford taurus' wasn't enough, now you might get comparisons to that butt-ugly KIA!!!

Out of all the sheetmetal on the market to have copied, why kia chose to copy the much maligned S-type styling, I will never know...

I suppose you could add , why buy a Jaguar XF , when you could have a cheaper ( probably more reliable , with a longer warranty ) KIA Optima ??

Yeah, can't say I've ever seen that one here. Actually a very nice looking ride. Both Hyundai and Kia have come a long way in the short time they've been around in terms of the quality of their products. One of the major US consumer magazines now rates both of them (2013 and above) very highly.

But IMHO the S-Type styling is still in a class of its own: often imitated; never duplicated. Even Jag's replacement products seem to lack its styling.
