Default Eye Glasses Update

Got the new ones from Costco....polarized lens with mirror coating. They are great for driving. My left eye still isn't as good as I hoped, but considering how bad it was, it's a vast improvement.
I highly recommend this type for driving. I'm sure other places have this service also (Sears, Penney's, Walmart...in SoCal..just to name a few) and not just Costco.

A couple of days ago, I had my final eye exam and fitting for new glasses. I now have (barely) 20-20 uncorrected vision in both eyes. I had the tech put up a 20-15 chart and my right eye (with glasses on) I just made it thru the chart, I did stumble on one letter, but no big deal. After all, I'm only 71 years old.
I'm getting 3 pair of glasses, 2 thru the VA, one for distance and the other for close up, reading, etc. I cannot tolerate bifocals or those "progressive" lens.
I asked the doctor to make an additional copy of the distance prescription and I took it to Costco. They will make a pair with polarized and mirror finish just for driving. I had that done last time and they work great.
They're using the existing frames and just making new lens..about $125.00.
If any of you drive in bright sun, I highly suggest doing something similar, it really helps.
Right now, in predawn hours, I can see traffic signals 2 1/4 miles away. Can't wait to "see" what the new ones will do.

I got tired of doing the 'spectacle shuffle' and had Lasik surgery done-10 days ago, and other than the occasional attempt to poke myself in the eye (subconscioiusly adjusting or pushing up my glasses) I think it's wonderful!! The day after I was well enough to drive myself to the follow up, and a week later I took a 16 hour-round trip road trip with my sister
(I did all the driving). Highly recommend this procedure to anyone!

You should find a lasik plus center and just go for it--free initial consultation-- and very reasonably priced!

I am sitting here fidgeting like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs... Going in with the daughter this evening so she can deliver my grandson..

I know it's not a cool man/car topic etc.. but I'm fit to bursting and had to share.

The next time Kitty hits the forums she'll be a Jag driving Grammy! <3

Good luck Kitty, I now all to well about "birthing" and how exciting it is!!! Our youngest (1 of 3 girls) will be 1 next month, man seems like yesterday I was where you are heading!!!

I hope you have a Britax Saftey Seat for the new one!!

Again best wishes for your daughter and yourself, and remember to tell her, first words into the birth center "WHERES MY EPIDURAL....damn it??!!!"

Do "we" know boy, girl, kitty??

Thanks Rick!

She medically wasn't allowed an epidural, but did awesome regardless-- though I did bribe her with "get thru this and you can drive the Jag, once, around the block."

She and wee Maximus Joseph (born 7:06pm tonight) are resting well and comfortably.

Grammie Kitty
