Default S type problems

Hello, I have recently brought a V plate s type 3.0 manual and it has only done 48000 miles but it has a couple of problems. First one is the centre console sometimes gets really hot, without the heating on. Secondly the heater only blows cold. Also It has a abs light on but I can't get an obd2 clip to work. Thanks in advance for any advice .

Firstly welcome to the Forums.

Your "V" designation means nothing to anyone outside the UK.

I suggest including the actual year model in your sig, via the CP tab at the left top of the screen.

I would buy a Mongoose clone to read the codes. The one I bought came with the jlr programme which means that it is possible to use the mongoose to diagnose problems.

Just use a search engine and you will find a lot of places where you can buy one.

You may want to consider investigating the ABS fault as that is a safety feature and may prove handy in a pinch when someone does something foolish in front of you...

I would start by checking the battery voltage. My abs warning light came on first when the battery did not supply enough voltage after I bought my car. It had been standing in the dealers for 6 months and I was lucky after driving for a hour and restarting the car the abs warning light has not come back on.

Also look to see that the traction control is also working because mine showed that it was not working at the same time. I think that the brakes are used to stop the car from fish trailing when accelerating hard.
