Default S Type rotor question

I have a 2000 S Type and I am currently re-doing the front end. My question is simple: HOW DO I GET MY ROTORS OFF?

I am at the point now where the rotor basically will not come off. I have disconnected or removed all of the following parts:
Tire
Caliper
Brake Housing Bracket

Here's the funy thing, the retention pieces that Alldata.com says holds the rotor on is not on my rotors. Myself and 2 others have looked this thing over but to no avail.

Furthermore, this car did sit for almost 2 years; OUTSIDE. So maybe the are just rusted on there? IDK honestly.

Any advice would be most helpful. I about to just take the whole wheel knuckle off and start beating this thing like a

Thanks Jagaholics

sPOKE WITH A MECHANIC HERE AT WORK AND HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT THE ROTORS WILL HAVE TO BE PULLED OFF USING A SEPERATOR BOLT.

NO IDEA BUT I'M GONNA LOOK WHEN I GET HOME TONIGHT.

JUST WANTED TO ADD THIS IN CASE SOMEONE ACTUALLY READ THIS THREAD LOL!!

Crude, sorry about the caps, i'm at work.

I have just finished a disc (rotor) and pad change on my 1999 3.0 S type and I can confirm that the retaining clips ( should be two per rotor) to hold on the rotor were missing even though the last rotor change was performed by an official Jaguar dealer. Apparently they don't bother with them now as the wheel nuts hold the rotor in place.

The old rotors were a pain to remove and needed the the help of a mallet on the edge of the rotor to free them off. Both had a lot of rust on the inside which was holding them on.

Hope this helps.

Spray the crap out of the rotor/hub mount center, put a lug nut on a few threads and beat the living sh*t out of the rotor from the back as you rotate the rotor to various places to distribute the force around the circumference. IT WILL COME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! The lug nut is to keep the rotor from flying off and damaging nearby items.

Hi Jagmen 81. How is it going? Has the hammer work managed to dislodge those rotors?

Best wishes

It sure did. Thanks for all the help. I was just nervous about doing that since it's a Jag and all. My old truck I wouldn't have hesitated one second to start wailing on those bad boys.

On a side note, it looks like meat left on the rotors themselves has been worn uneven. Hope this doesn't mean I also have a caliper issue to deal with.......

Make sure the caliper is free to slide on the two mounting pins. Not rare to see one or more seized.

Yep, plenty of copper based grease on the slide/guide pins should sort that out. Also make sure the pads can move on the locating clips. Again a little dab of grease on the ends of the pads (but make sure none goes on the pad face) will help.

Best wishes.
