Be more clear you mean wheel height or width? Depends what styles you want as well

Read this post...

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...e-sizes-72110/

For all S-types, all tire ”Outside Diameters” are in the range of 25.6” to 25.8” ( 649mm to 655mm) So depending on wide of a tire and the diameter of the rim, you need to stay close to the 25.7 Tire OD or else you start messing up the wheel speed sensors and the ride height/suspension geometry of the car.

S-types all have very large wheel offsets, so you can't put a wider rim further inside the wheel well. Wider rims will have to stick farther out of the fender well increasing the probability of the tire hitting the fender.

And he's in the UK which means risk of non-insurance / deemed unroadworthy / etc.

Then there's the reduced MPG by going bigger and on our roads the poorer ride.

He has one of the early cars so already has poorer suspension.

Practical max size may be 17" or at a pinch 18". Better to change to a 2002.5MY+ car.

Vague question. Here in the US, I see cars that came with 16" wheels running 26" wheels after a suspension lift (please dont do this with your Jag lol, and luckily that look here with the urban crowd is going out of style). With custom work, you can fit just about any size I guess is my point.

On my S-Type R, I have 19x8.5 wheels in front, 19x10 wheels in rear. We have some members with 20" wheels, not sure of their widths.
