Default seat belt buckle on str

my str drivers seat belt needs some force to lock into place when putting the seat belt on not excessive force more of a firm quick push to make lock was wondering if there is anything that can improve the locking of the seat belt mot is coming up in april and was think if the tester is fussy may fail the car seen new seat belt buckles for £100 bit pricey hence this post

Have you tried cleaning the female portion of the buckle assembly with a very light application of electrical contact cleaner?
