While I was detailing the STR this weekend I noticed something odd about the front seats. Even though there isn't a whole lot of legroom in this car with the seats all the way back you can electrically adjust the seat cushion to more forward until it collides with the dash!

What's the point of that?

Then I noticed that the seat tracks rear mounting points are an enormously long thing with long plastic covers over the back halves. It makes me wonder if the seats originally were positioned farther back in the car?

Does anyone know anything about this? Both my wife and I would like some more legroom if it's available.
