Default sensors, hose and baffled by it..help please

Hi, my first real post here, and first question.

I just bought a 2000 s-type jaguar 4.0 . I knew when I bought it most of the sensors, hoses.etc had been taken out..( hence got it for a steal ) I already was able to locate and replace most of the sensors. But this one hose I just can't seem to figure out. I have been all through this forum looking for a solid answer and didn't find one...Know its obvious that a hose runs from the air duct nipple to the left valve cover. I believe this is called the full load vacuum hose? The of the valve cover connection is broken off, and looks like a regular pcv valve goes in there. This judging from the oil baffle at the bottom. So question is what do I need here to complete this vacuum hose setup?..I left a link to photo-bucket so that its easy to see, you might have to zoom in. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, there is a hose that does from the valve cover to the intake tube. Looks like you will need to source another cam cover as the receiver for that hose looks broken off... I would add that part to your replacement list.

I have replaced this part in the past - there is a part number but I can't locate the invoice. The hose costs about $35.00

This may help - the part you need is picture #4 in this auction:

Jaguar s Type Breather Tube PCV Emissions Hose Set 4 0L V8 00 01 02 | eBay

Also, looking at the picture - looks like you have some bolt tightening to do on the coolant cross over pipe.

I must ask why you would buy this car in this condition - do you even know if the engine is in running condition?

Thanks for responding. you know how they say I bought it from a guy who knew a guy and so forth. So before I bought it two people did indeed confirm that it did run and run good. One thing I didn't add is it only has around 60 thousand on it but has set for a long time and not started

I was wondering if you had anymore information on that hose. I have a background in fabrication so fixing the connection is pretty much not a problem. However, I still would need to know if it indeed used a pcv valve in the cover or some sort of restriction? Or is it just a straight through hose? Should add that fabricating a hose for cheap will save me the 35.00 dollars. And of course take me more time then its worth..LOL But it will be pretty as well as all the engine, eventually......and thanks for the link to the hose, very nice of you to take the time and look it up on ebay for me.

Anybody that chimes in here, thanks in advance

Opps, just went to the link you sent me and realized it was a full set. May have to rethink that hose fab. But still will fabricate the connection as soon as I find out the information asked earlier- pvc,or restriction device of some sort?? I don't want to totally throw off the ecm.

Look at parts catalog (online or free JEPC) and workshop manual (JTIS, also free). I expect it's the PCV. You cannot remove any sensor anywhere without faults.

There is no PCV valve on the 4.0 V8 (MY 1999.25 - 2002) again, I would highly recommend replacing the hose with a used replacement vs. fabricating as JagV8 mentioned - these cars are very touchy....
