Set clock in S-type
Just got my new 2007 S-type yesterday & can't get the clock set correctly (probably the easiest thing I'll ever have to deal with). I've read the manual (several times) and searched this forum but when I do what the handbook states, nothing happens. This is for the NON-touch screen display
The handbook states:
1.Press & hold MODE until TA volume is displayed -[ mine never shows that but goes straight to CLOCK SET]
2. Repeatedly press MODE until CLOCK SET is displayed [ but I'm already there...]
3. To select 12 or 24 hour format, press the seek up\down keys [when I press them nothing happens!!]
4. Press MODE to continue
5. If 12 hour is selected, use # to denote AM or PM - pressing # does NOTHING for me
6 Use the key pad to enter the time in four digit format
7. To exit, press & hold MODE until the display reverts to audio mode
I can get to CLOCK SET & in a few seconds, it automatically reverts to the normal radio view.
I also tried to adjust the radio (balance, treble, etc and NADA).
Any hints would be appreciated
TIA

The buttons on my '03 are a bit slow to respond at times. Mine didn't come with directions (I got the touch screen manual despite not having a touch screen), so I looked it up on this forum. Here's how mine works:
1) Turn on radio
2) Press and hold MODE for about 3 secs
3) Press Mode button again for clock set
4) Press seek for 12/24
5) Press 1-9 to input time
6) Press # for AM/PM
I also laminated a small card for the owner's manual, so I have a quick reference when I need to do a daylight savings time change.

Thanks for that. I have tried those suggestions but after the screen gets to CLOCK SET nothing works to change anything.
BTW - I see we share the 3.2 TL. I've got a 2000 & when I bought the S-type, my other option was to buy a 2008 TL with low mileage. Decided it was time for a change !

Looks like 2007 are different than earlier models according to the link from JagV8. I wonder if DougB got the wrong owners manual with his car.

JAGV8 - you have saved the day. I'm not sure why your manual is different from the one I have but yours works (re: the clock & radio) and mine does not. I am now reviewing yours to find out where the dispenser of the 50 year-old scotch is

Many thanks
The TL has been a fantastic car. I bought it certified with 26k on the clock in 03 and I currently have 156k on it. It's asked for nothing major, other than the trans recall covered under warranty. I don't really care for the look of the current TL, so I too am considering an 07 or 08 if I can find one clean enough. Seems we share a common good taste in cars! I still have a soft spot for American cars though, so I'm also considering the new LaCrosse as an option as well. Best of luck with the S type!
