My 02 S-type is having problems engaging from "Park" to "Reverse" so i lift the console up in order to hit the Shift Release button, and i realise that my Shift Solonoid is real hot. That isnt normal is it? What problem could this cause?? Reply asap thanks

 

I'm familiar with aircraft solenoids, and I can tell you when they are energized, they are hot enough to burn yourself on. Sorry, I can't help much with your particular car, though.
