should the front wheels have spacers??
so i bought my 2003 s-type last febuary and finally decided to do a tire rotation(driven very little). i tried to take off the wheels and the 2 peice lugs were stripped..so i bought new ones and when i took off the wheels i found that the front ones had wheel spacers on them..the rears did not..i have the stock 16" "artemis"wheels on it..since i bought the car used i wanted to know if the spacers are supposed to be there or where they put there by the previous owner? Thank you in advance
I can assure you that they are not factory. My guess would be that the previous owner had the wrong offset aftermarket wheels on there and when he/she took the wheels off before selling the car, the tire shop forgot to take the spacers off. I only say this because I accidentally left mine on there when I put my stock wheels back on.
If you have standard wheels, just take the spacers off. Otherwise, make sure they're safe and then tell your insurer about the modification (they may refuse to cover you or charge you extra).
