Default Somewhat Sad Day...

I have decided to sell my STR. I just dont drive it much and enjoy it anymore. The only time I drive it is if it's downpouring rain, getting groceries, or doing laundry. I ride my bike everywhere now. The STR mainly just sits. My bike broke down the other day and sparked me thinking about this. If it wasnt for my neighbor I would have no idea how I would of gotten my bike home. I'm going to get rid of the STR and just get a pick-up or and SUV with a small trailer. This will allow me to still do my errands I need a vehicle for and allow me to tow my bike around on long trips or for breakdowns. I am getting rid of the payment so I can buy another bike. The motorcycle hobby has become my major hobby at the moment. I will return after I graduate and return to the work force with another Jag (possibly an XFR). Here is a link to be ad and it is OBO. Any questions feel free to PM me or email me through my ad. I'll try and visit the boards here and there to keep you guys in check.
2005 Jaguar S type R

Here is what will be added to my hobby once the STR is gone.

Sorry to see you leave the fold Chris, but what you say makes sense, if the car is just sitting it's going to bite back soon!
The Monsters are good fun, I can understand the bike bug biting hard!
Good luck with the sale.

Sorry to hear the news. Wanted to thank you for the oil change vid you posted on Youtube. It really helped me out since I have never worked on a car before, and it helped motivate me to become more of a DIY'er.

Having the STR wouldnt allow for that. I'm planning on getting just a cheap vehicle to do my other dutys. Plus being a college student I'm trying to eliminate all loan payments and this will put me in that position.

Best of luck Chris! I'd like to echo the others: Hate to see you go and appreciate your great contributions. Thanks again for your military service. Don't be a stranger...just cuz you aren't "currently" holding a Jag title (I'm confident yours will be snapped up soon in the market) doesn't mean you aren't still among friends here on JaguarForums.com!

Chris,

I too am sorry to see you leave the S-Type membership here on the forum. We have all been beneficiaries of your extensive automotive knowledge and eager willingness to assist other forum members. Enjoy your bikes, and be careful out there on the highways and byways. Stop by the forum from time to time when you need a break from your classwork. Thanks again for all of your contributions here....

Default Well...change happens to the best of us!

Thanks for all of your video help man. You probably saved me about $2000 on regular maintenance issues. In about 2 hours I will be taking the iPad with your video outside to do the fuel filter change...see you soon in the XFR...Godspeed!

Bummer Chris, but understandable - your STR is a nice one, hope you get a good price for it. Best of luck and don't be a stranger around here! Thanks for all your help over the years.

Hey Chris, I guess we all do what we have to do. Hope you get a good price and best wishes with your studies.

Interests do change. I'm going the other direction and looking to unload the two bikes. Unfortunately for me the Harley market is tanked.

Well I'm thankful for your purchase of the STR in the first place, because it's that which allowed our paths to cross. We all have a destiny, and we here are all fortunate to have encountered your presence here if merely by means of the STR.

Your instructional videos are timeless and your friendship will be missed.

It does help going back as a 32 year old college student. And using the GI Bill which covers school costs is also nice. My age helps me know how to save money and I live well below what I get from my GI Bill so that helps. My time in the Marine Corps definitely helped me get to the point of having the STR with a small payment to be in that position. The nice thing about being single is I only have to worry about myself. If I can get myself to no payments and keep it that way it will help me once I graduate to seek more opportunities because I wont have payments that need to get paid right away so I can hopefully get a really good job in a city I will want to be in and not just take the first thing offered.

Thanks for all the kinds words everyone. Now I just got to get this thing sold. Going to lower my price on my ad but I will take best offer. I have wiggle room just have it locally for higher because the economy isnt so hard hit around here.

We're just ooooooooold.

When I graduated from college I had 39 Plymouth (I always liked old cars) which I got when wisely gave up the Honda CB175 and that sufficed for two years. At the time I remember the Jag E-Type being about $12,500 which was my annual salary and I ignorantly thought, hey I might be able to afford one of those. NOT!
