IMO, your ad's a little lacking especially to someone who doesn't know anything about the car...I'd be a little more descriptive..."Brembo brakes with HUGE 14.7 cross drilled and slotted rotors", "silencer intake replaced with a Mafiaso intake for more supercharger whine"...Also include the memory seats, power pedals, power column, HIDs, sport tuned suspension, sunroof and steering wheel audio controls...

For the title I'd inlcude something like "425hp(?) of luxury" Demand is just super low on these cars...If you can find the right deal, might be worth trading in...

I like the black side markers and have been looking for those rims for my 2005 S 4.2, heck I would buy it if it had less miles.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Apparently I'm really seeing the hardness in selling an STR right now. Have only had one person look at it. Even went down to 12900 and he said that works then havent heard from him since. I'm very motivated so if anyone knows anyone looking. I'm also trying to figure out other places to list. Any ideas? I only have it listed here and craigslist. Dont really want to pay for autotrader. Might expand it out to some other craigslists within 2 hours from here and see how that goes.

Hey buddy its going to be sad seeing you let go of your STR. Thanks for all the help in the past with the vids and write ups. Hopefully we'll see you again with another Jag in the near future. As for advertising your Jag, only thing I can recommend other than what you already tried is EBAY. You'll get national attention and those particular buyers who are interested in STRs.

Good Luck

You know you don't necessarily need to leave the forum right?

I had to let mine go a little over a week ago, and I'm not leaving the forum...unless the admin and mods do otherwise...

How much did you let yours go for? I had a similar issue...I had an one accident 05 STR, went to 7 dealers, most only offered below $10K, but found one who offered $11500...In the interest of being thorough, I paid $25XX cash for a no accident 2010, 45K Accord LX-P...Most dealers I went to encouraged me to not trade it in and buy their car outright...

Vance, you're experiencing our rock bottom demand for a no accident STR and the bottom of the bottom for an accident(s) STR...With paid sites such as autotrader, even if you pay, don't expect it to sell...

You best odds are finding a car lot that you can sell on, paying a dealer on the side or a cosignment...Our cars are gorgeous and you'll fall in love with it when you drive it, but no one knows they exist; hence they're not searching for them...By having one on dealers lot, you hopefully you'll attract unknowing car shoppers...

Vance have sent you a mail on your other for sale link would love to look at your car but a bit early in the year for me, was going to look later on as have some financial commitments at present. Car looks great and it's a shame you cannot do both with the bikes and the car. But understand as in same position, you want something but something else is in the way.

Vance,

Sold my 2003 S Type R with 62K miles, one owner car (not modded) on Auto Trader in 7 days for the asking price of $9500. It was very clean. Was I fortunate to get just the right buyer in the right situation here in Tallahassee (a very limited market).yes, but like they say "there is a seat for every ***". I would give Auto Trader a try.

Good luck with your sale...

Possible interest from me as well, just need to line up some financial ducks in a row and see if they quack or not. And update as to it's availability would be welcomed.

Just got it inspected today so it is good even with the tint for at least another year. I have someone looking at it Wed so will see what happens then I will get back to everyone on here. He was worried about the inspection so I got it done just in case. Hopefully it is gone soon cause there are a few trucks I'm interested in but dont want to look until the STR is gone. He wasnt interested in the intake so I put it back to stock so if he takes it like that a Mafiaso Intake might be going up for sale to make up some of the money from the hit STR's seem to have taken.

Wow...........only just saw this Chris.....

I read through and looked at a lot of the comments as posted below from various members............

Chris, thank you for your participation as well as contribution to this Jaguar S-Type community.

Sorry to hear the news. Wanted to thank you for the oil change vid you posted on Youtube. It really helped me out since I have never worked on a car before, and it helped motivate me to become more of a DIY'er.

Best of luck Chris! I'd like to echo the others: Hate to see you go and appreciate your great contributions. Thanks again for your military service. Don't be a stranger...just cuz you aren't "currently" holding a Jag title (I'm confident yours will be snapped up soon in the market) doesn't mean you aren't still among friends here on JaguarForums.com!

Chris, I too am sorry to see you leave the S-Type membership here on the forum. We have all been beneficiaries of your extensive automotive knowledge and eager willingness to assist other forum members.

Thanks for all of your video help man. You probably saved me about $2000 on regular maintenance issues.

Well I'm thankful for your purchase of the STR in the first place, because it's that which allowed our paths to cross. We all have a destiny, and we here are all fortunate to have encountered your presence here if merely by means of the STR.
Your instructional videos are timeless and your friendship will be missed.
"Live Long.... and Prosper my friend

Thanks for your service for our country.

Thanks for all you did for our country and this forum. You are an asset for sure. Good luck selling the lady and see you around.

Thanks for all the help in the past with the vids and write ups. Hopefully we'll see you again with another Jag in the near future

All are true and I echo every one of those sentiments Chris.
You've been one of the forum die hards and have helped so many members here with your instructional videos and posts.
In all likelihood your time here will diminish I expect and if thats the case, trust me when I say, you will be sadly missed.

There will always be a place for you here whether you own a Jag or not. Please remember this is home

Best wishes from me and the rest of the team Chris

Chris, let me know if you decide to sell the intake. Rick was going to call you Saturday fpr me to ask if you had interest in parting with it. I have sold several modded cars and realized you really get $0 for any of the mods.

Thanks Jim and everyone else for the kind words. The car has officially sold. After a little hick-up from me switching intakes and the ECM going crazy after. I cleaned up the MAF and the stock intake tube and all connections and all seems well with the car. The new owner is already making it his own. I will start looking for a truck this weekend and next week and hopefully will find something soon. My bike is now my only form of transportation. I did pick up another about a month ago since the one I finally decided on is pretty rare and couldnt pass up the deal I ran across. I'll be checking in here and there and will hopefully return to Jaguar ownership once my degree is done.
SC Str I did keep the Mafiaso intake. I have to think about how much I'm going to ask for it. If you have a number in mind you can pm me and go from there if its good.

Glad your plans came together, bit gutted was about a month away probably and really wanted the car as a father and son job. Will start to look around for another but all other STR around are way over priced and tired. Hope to see you at cars and coffee in the future but hope the new owner does not come around with the Jag! Only joking!

Congrats on successfully selling your STR, Chris. I know you'll miss it, but I realize that your priorities have migrated more towards your bikes vs. any 4-wheel vehicle. Once you find the right truck, let us know what it is....

Stay safe on those bikes....

I picked up a truck this morning. Its a '96 Mazda B4000 4X4. Needs a little bit of work but nothing I can't handle and I couldnt beat the price. Should haul my bikes on trips with no problems. Now got to order parts to fix a few small things. I'll post up pics once I get her cleaned up. Should be a fun little truck and should take care of me for the next 2 years till I'm done with school.
