What's the point of what you're doing instead of going leak finding?

Just wondering.

The point is that yesterday night I went out for dinner and I took the opportunity to do the recording, and today, once I finished work (already night) looked at the data and generated the graph. Had no time during the day to look for the leak Also what I answered on the previous post, may be we could see in the data an indication of something else, or may be not

I'll try to look for the leaks during the weekend, but it's quite bussy already...

Obviously do it when you wish but posting more and more confusing data is distracting and is just time gone.

If you simply haven't the time (or inclination?) to hunt for leaks then a jag indy may be a good choice.

Update to the pinging/tambourine sound:

It has been about 15,000 miles since the videos were made and the dang car is still making the noise but appears no worse for wear. I am taking the car in later this month for a trans fluid drain and fill, I will be sure to ask the mechanic about it.

Oddly enough the car was fine for about 14,000 miles (with an occasional hiccup) then gave a p0327 code for knock sensor bank 1 and restricted performance. I wasn't close to home so I drove it around for another 150 miles or so (LA to SD). Then the car sat for about 6 months which toasted the battery. It was replaced and the code returned. I noticed that I didn't seat the battery cables fully onto the terminals, once I seated and tightened them I cleared the codes and I have been code free since, about 400 miles and change!

I just changed my oil and took a sample, I will be sending it to Blackstone for analysis, will share the results when I get them.

BIG thanks to Mikey, NBcat, JagV8, Cambo, and all others who have contributed to this thread. I am grateful.

Ok so here is the oil analysis...

Not bad considering the oil did sit for several months. If the car was indeed pinging, would it show up in the oil analysis? It still makes me cringe when I hear it. My previous mechanic said pinging was fine, my most recent mechanic (also a jag indy) said it might be from bad motor mounts, he said the engine is almost touching the frame. Is there any way pinging doesn't throw codes?

I will be posting repair updates in another thread.

Cheers

POSSIBLE SOLUTION

I recently had the trans fluid changed but I didn't have the TCM cleared/reflashed (it was friday and there wasn't enough time before my mechanic closed up shop). Sure enough, the car still "pinged" over the weekend (or rather, made a sound VERY similar to pinging).

I came back to have the TCM cleared and I also had them fix the "engine coolant low" which was caused by a corroded connector (see pic). I no longer have pinging! I am still driving gingerly (for the TCM) but it has been maybe 120 miles and 99% of the noise is gone. I might hear a tick or two but nothing like before. So it was either the tcm reflash or the connector. But the questions remains,,,what was noise? Mechanic said not to look a gift horse in the mouth but I really would like to know. Any thoughts?
