Default Spark plugs and oil sump leak

The time has arrived for a spark plug change on my 3ltr S type SE 03 model and reading up on the FAQs "engine sump oil leak" (that I have) it seem the way forward is to change the plugs and whilst the manifold is off change the sump gasket.
Back to the FAQs for the gasket change I have a couple of questions following the above procedure, as follows
Brutal states removing the lower two AC comp bolts only, why only two as the AC will still be secure?
The serpentine belt will need to be loose to rotate the alt. I presume?
What are the three "rack" bolts shown on the Alt picture, and the "rack ties" on the next photo?
I will have use of a car lift but at the moment I am gathering as much info as possible before I "jump in"
I appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks
Paul
ps I lost JTIS when I upgraded to win 10 (big mistake)so I am thinking of subscribing to ALLDATAdiy any thoughts?

There are 4 AC bolts. I removed all 4 bolts to give way for more working room while the vehicle was 12" above me while I was working on my back.

Can't recall, but I am sure I removed the serpentine belt.

You have to lower the Rack and Pinion, there are 3 bolts holding it to the cross frame. "Rack ties" are bailing wire holding up the rack while the 3 bolts are removed. I did not want to leave the rack and pinion "hanging".

I had a five year subscription to Alldatadiy.com It ran out and I haven't needed it. I personally recommend alldatadiy for torque specs and other pertinent information. Some will say its a waste of money, I disagree. I also refer to it while working on other vehicles as well.

As I recall, it wasn't that much of a headache in replacing the sump gasket, just a bit time consuming. A lift will speed things along.

Good luck, report back.
