Standard stereo to navigation replacement
I have a 2003 jaguar STR with alpine sound system and I want to replace the standard factory radio so I recently picked up a oem 2006 touch screen navigation off eBay. I read it can be replaced but it seems I may need a wiring harness since the old stereo has 2 plugs and the touch screen navigation has only 1 plug. Does anyone know what wiring harness I need or what needs to be done? And help is greatly appreciated.
This is not worth the work involved.
As well as the changes to the harness the nav screen also controls the A/C.
The screen itself is controlled by the NAV DVD drive unit that is in the trunk linked via the d2b fibre network as well as the electrical wires that provide the RGB signal for the display. So just for a start you will need the NAV DVD drive unit for the screen to work at all.
Even if you do go down this path the newest map DVD is 2012 so is well out of date now, it also does not have a 'traffic' function.
