starts then shuts off

Default starts then shuts off
I have a 2003 Jaguar S-Type V8, It says i have 46 miles to empty but died while driving. Went to restart it would start for a brief second and then cut off. If you keep pumping the gas it will continue to try and rev but then cut off again.. What could be the problem.. I am afraid to know....

Maybe the 46 is what's wrong. Add gas
