I got my pads from Brake Performance. They are kevlar and very quiet and dust free. I haven't found rotors yet. I would like to get drilled and slotted ones for my car.

I've been looking for months, and everytime a new brake site pops up, I search for em. So far the only solution has been the dealer or brembo themselves. I think that it's the same product and it's actually cheaper at the dealer.

You can get front and back Akebono ceramic pads from www.tirerack.com. Advance Auto Parts hasAkebono front pads, but they don't carry any rear pads for the STR. I have been looking to replace my brakes. The previous owner of my car put semi-metallic pads on it. I have to wash off the brake dust on my wheels every 5 days. I have never used Akebono pads before, but the reviews say that they are relatively quiet and they work well in all conditions.

Tire Rackfront $125
Tire Rack rear $95
Advance Auto Parts front $70

I took the new dealer Brembo pads off because they were very very dirty, dusty and noisy. Now I can go for weeks without having to wash my wheels and they are much quieter. I did all 4's for about 150.00.

www.jagpartsdirect.com have rear rotors in stock. They do carry front rotors, but they are out of stock.

I'm in the same quandry. It's about time for new brakes on my 2003 S-Type V8. I checked with a place that services Jaguars, Land ROvers, and other British cars. They said 500 - 550 per axle! That seemed kind of steep to me. I would really like to get new calipers that are painted but I can't seem to find them for my model. I even checked the Brembo site. Alternatively, what rotors and pads are good to get? The place I got the quote from said they use ceramic. I do want quiet and no dust.

I read somewhere that changing the rotors and pads on this car is not unlike any typical car so there should not be a reason for the high cost except that it say Jaguar on the car. Am I wrong?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm very interested in this thread and spent considerable time two years ago trying to find OEM (or like) rotors through non-dealer channels. Due to low production volumes, all aftermarket sources were a no-go. I actually spoke with EBC and again, based on the low production volume and lack of ROI relative to costs for the casting/die process, the chance of them producing an STR rotor was slim to none.

I also called Brembo directly and they would not sell around the Jaguar channel. Someone mentioned earlier that Brembo direct was an option. If so, please let us know the details.

The best price I've heard was found at [color="#000c0b" size="2"]JPAM Porsche Jaguar Parts in Las Vegas where a member from the s-typerregistry.com paid $565 for all 4 rotors this past January.

Finally, I had Akebono pads on my old '03 STR (now have an '05) and they were fantastic! Low brake dust and little rotor wear. Braking was not nearly as crisp (a lot less initial bite) but were perfect for non-track use.

Good luck,
Eric
