STR dreaded hose prob. Do supercharger oil change too?
Well, It finally happened. The hose under the supercharger blew as I turned into a parking space. Parts are ordered and hopefully I'll be back on the road Thursday. My '05 STR has 85K and I've read several very conflicting threads as to whether the supercharger oil should be changed/refreshed while its out. Is this advised or is there another service that should be done at this time? your advice is is appreciated.
Sorry to hear another victim of the valley hose.
No reason not to change the supercharger oil while you have it out.
In fact while you have the whole thing apart it's a good time to replace/clean everything that you can. New gaskets & hoses, maybe even think about putting in new knock sensors, since they are otherwise inaccessible.
I would also pull out the charge coolers and give them a cool clean, while you can. Ditto for the intake elbow and throttle body. Do it all now while you can & fingers crossed you will never have to take it all apart again...

Change it! If you have ever done it while the SC is in the car you will be amazed at how easy it is when you can just turn the SC the right way to drain it.
I use the GM SC oil and get two bottles.
