Default STR induction elbow Work in progress

Read with interest a lot of thoughts on replacing the standard air intake elbow with a simplified tube version as it appears to give some performance benefits so had a go at my own today. Like to know what you think

Elbow is silicon onto aluminium tube with a carbon wrap
Remap was a pain Done by the guys that made the exhaust, it was initially locked down, but a contact of theirs ( Ex Jag development engineer) turned up and managed to remove the ecu security code causing the problem. Not run on the dyno yet but Im fitting water injection soon and will be set up on the dyno then Ill post some numbers as soon as possible

Very interesting.... What does your ***-dyno tell you about the exhaust, pulley (1.5 or 3 lb?) elbow, and remap?

*** dyno (the one that counts) is giving very positive feedback. Pulleys 3lb and made a difference but the added sports cats full flow system was most noticeable especially mid range.

Styper, Ditto...I had hi flow cats and x-pipe installed prior to 1.5 pulley and my *** dyno "knows" the bigger gain came from the hi-flow cats. The engine weezes through the stock cats. Ordering the 3 lb pulley from Phoenix Coach Works and waiting for Mafioso's air intake elbow. Who made your 3 lb pulley? Keep up the good work working that 4.2 s/c.

I'm seriously hedging on sending the s/c, throttle body, pulley to Stiegiermeir for port/polish/pulley fitting. Just threw an e-mail to Bob S. for price quotes and feed back. Due to weather I'm not going to use the car for another month and a half, so this is the time to do it. Your intake elbow looks functional and professional. R U gunna dyno her? Phoenix Coach Works said their pulley with a full exhaust mod should give a 8% increase or around 440+ hp. Did you have to grind down the blower snout?

Thanks nut. Good to hear your own the modifcation track.

How's your car shifting since the tune? Does she still short shift through the first 3 gears?

stypernut. Can your tuner tune our ECU's too? if yes, how much $$$? So your STR doesn't short shift since the ECU tune?
