Default STR Ski Hatch?

hi guys

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the rear seat has the cut out ready for a ski hatch opening or whether it’s a solid piece of metal. Long story short I’m trying to get an opening from boot to cabin as after my subwoofer installation today, I can barely hear the subwoofer, my last STR had the ski hatch opening and sounded completely different

At the moment it’s just grey fabric cabin side and boot carpet boot side, I’m hoping I can just cut the fabric and the opening is there, my old Bmw I had to smash the panel out with a lump hammer

Thanks in advance!

I must have missed that phrase in the Workshop Manual. Do have a recommended ft/lbs to be applied?

There are two triangle cabin vents eather side of the ski hatch with or without the ski hatch option , so the ski hatch makes no difference ,
If you havnt already found them there is the factory rear seat fold down release cables tucked in at ether side of the trunk/ boot inner liner panels , so you can have a look for your self.
But first
try flipping the polarity of your sub . it may just help .
It worked for me .
