Talking STR vs. LT1 Formula Firebird

Video claims high 12's without ECU tune. Sounds promising

No one wants to play out here, they will start but when I start to get into it and the blower starts whining they become uncommited and back off

Not that I advocate street racing but nothing wrong with late night empty street/highway playing

No more "3.0" kills for me....

As soon as I start to spank a civic and hit redline my car "shuts off" and flips me the bird......

Yea, I know, the ricers are "low hanging fruit" but thats 'bout all a little V6 can kill.....

It is quite comical to see the look on their poor defeated faces when a V6 barge driven by a graying old guy whips em.....

Jeff:

Picked on a few ricers as well. I guess the fact that my VDP doesn't indicate what size engine it has on the rear fakes them out. Their favorite trick is to tailgate old grandpaw on the interstate on ramp and then try to pass me as soon as we get out on the interstate. Traffic permitting, I just uncork the 4.2 a bit and get her up to 75 real quick (Speed limits here are 70).

I had a 96 Z28/SS 6-speed with all of the SLP upgrades (315 bhp). An STR shouldn't need any mods to pull on an i/h/e LT1 from a roll.

Don't forget weight differences. Gearing as well it's not all about the whp

Prime example the ariel atom weighes in about 1200lbs and has a Honda supercharged 4cyl 350bhp

Great example what a monster power to weight ratio can do.

I'm not forgetting weight. LT1 fbodies are dogs, imo. I've owned at least 15 fbodies and know exactly what they can do.
