Default Stuck Crankshaft Position Sensor

2003 S-Type R Supercharged v8

Trying to replace CKP Sensor (Crankshaft Position Sensor). It is stuck in the Bell housing. Have used Penetrating Solvent to no progress. Is there a trick to getting these things loose? Heat? Drill? Pounding?

How much room do you have for access?

You may have to take out the remains in pieces. Maybe a right angle drill with a short bit? Measure the protrusion on the new sensor. Shorten the non-cutting end of a drill bit so you can hollow out the broken sensor, without going all the way through and damaging sensor ring on the flywheel.

With any luck, you could drill out the guts of the broken sensor, leaving only the metal shell. With a small chisel or awl around the edge, collapse the shell and remove it with pliers.

Thanks.
I like idea of controlling drill length to protect flywheel.
