Default Sun Roof Problems

Hello all, I've recently been getting water coming in through the sun visor fittings and the cabin lights in the centre of the headliner. Coupled with that has been that the sunroof works intermittently. Sometimes opening normally, most of the time sticking half way or needing repeated button presses to move it a few mm. Eventually, it'll stop moving completely stuck half way and I need to close it. Can anyone offer any support please ?

I'd start by clearing all four sunroof drains. Several threads here on how to do it, some with pics. It' s more common that the floorboard fills with water, but I think a few have reported leaks from overhead due to clogged drains. Do you park it outside much? Any trees around? This would accelerate drain clogging but is not necessary to have the occurrence.

Thank you, yes its sat under a tree daily 🙄 I'll figure out how to flush the drainage pipes as a start. Thanks for your help.

Having the same problem with my 2004 S-Type. Vacuumed 2+ gallons of water out of the footwell yesterday after heavy rain. Opened the sunroof which was completely filled with water.

Over 2 gallons!

Beside the standing water in the footwell this is the only sign of water damage

" Several threads here on how to do it" can't find them.

I see some posts now. Didn't realize there were several pages when you search. Look forward to trying these clean-out methods.

Thanks Jaguar Forums!

If you look at the four corners of the sunroof well you will see the 4 small drain holes. Gently push some plastic wire (strimmer wire maybe) and see if you clear the problem.

I had this happen once but when I tested the drains before cleaning, they worked fine again!!!

Default Clogged drain tubes

I tried using trimmer wire and 16 gauge copper. I can only get about 6 in in.
