Default supercharger belt replacement

Help, I need a source for a replacement supercharger belt for my 03 jaguar s-type R. Jaguar has changed the belt design and will not sell the old-style belt any longer. They want you to replace the belt with a double sided one, and buy a new bracket, a new tensioner, and a new idler. Around 400 bucks. Any help would be appreciated.

That size is for a 4.0 engine, you need 1 size up, like the gates K080525

Goodyear Gatorback 4080525 will work for the 4.2 too, also on Amazon.

The Phoenix coachworks pulley is about 2.6" in diameter. I did not change the belt size when I installed mine.

I'm sure the V8 is different than the 6 cyl, so I will check out the number you suggest. But, do you really think these numbers are good for the v8 supercharged s-type?

Thanks, for the info. I called two jag dealers and they wouldn't tell me the old part number or how long it was so I'm at a loss as to how to insure I get the right size belt. Their too expensive to just buy and hope. I will do my best to find out how long these belts are (numbers you guys are giving me) then measure mine.

I do not understand your comment. The supercharged S-Type and the XKR are both V8 engines.

The 4.0 and 4.2 use different belts. With a 2003, you have a 4.2.

The XKR and the S-types both use the same supercharger belt. So a Gates K080525 or a Goodyear Gatorback 4080525 is what you need.

Thanks WhiteXKR!
I wanted the Gatorback belt but had not found it. This is a double sided grooved belt like the upgraded one from Jaguar?? Not the old single sided grooved belt that has been upgraded when the pulley changes where done for the squeaking SC belt TSB?

No, this is the Goodyear Gatorback version of the SINGLE sided belt which works with the original idlers and tensioners. Never had any squeaking on mine.

@Riski,
My guess would be a K080514 belt from gates, but Phoenix C. should be able to let you know the right size or?

On their website Phoenix calls for use of the original belt. http://www.phoenix-coachworks.co.uk/superchargers.html

As far as I can see, the only downside is the belt wear indicator gauge on the vehicle is no longer accurate.

Sorry, my bad, I was responding to the comment that the belt was for a 4.0 and I was thinking 3.0 when I read this as I didn't know there was a 4.0 engine. So I said mine is a 4.2 v8 and the v8 must be different than a 6 cyl ie. 4.0. I was wrong and of course I don't know all the jaguar models so I will make mistakes. I thought I read the Gatorback was a two sided type, thought it might be the new version, which I can't use at this time. I will check the 4080525 out. Again thanks for the help.

This answer still hasn't been responded to, but I too am curious to know if there is a double sided Goodyear Gatorback belt available on the market for the STR SuperCharger?

Update: Guess they don't make it according to one of the members on this link
