Default Supercharger removal guide on 4.2 engine...

Is there a PDF version available?

I need to change my charge coolers as it seems one of them has gone porous and the charger is pressurising the cooling system when spooled up. Has anyone has this issue before?

The cooling system doesn't pressurise at all until the charger is spooled up, I've by passed the coolers and all seems fine. Guessing the core is porous and seeing the charger produces more pressure than the cooling system it's pushing air to water.

I've got hold of two new charge coolers but it seems like the charger needs removing before you're able to unbolt them. Probably going to overhall the charger too while it's off.

Cheers

You'll find some interesting reading here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/s...-repair-38911/

And can download the PDF here STR_supercharger_removal_and_installation.pdf

This is the first time I have heard of this. If you have any pictures of the failed inter-cooler it would be a help. They are plumbed separately. Are you just changing both to make sure?

You might want a second opinion because of the unusual failure? I have never checked if my inter-cooler loop was pressured up or not? It is tied to the main cooling system so I figured it would have pressure.

Never heard of this before.

Er... the coolant system should pressurise any time the engine gets hot, regardless of SC usage. Well, that's what I think - anyone else got comments?

I don't just mean pressurise, I mean the coolant hoses are getting rock solid hard. Sniff test revealed no combustion gas in the cooling system and yes engine cooling and charger cooler systems are linked. Car has covered nearly 170k miles miles you.....
