Technical Bulletin for Fuel Tank Info
Hey All!
I have a 2005 S-Type V6 that I bought. It seems that the top of the tank is leaking, verified by pulling the seat.
The question I have is with the technical bulletin. I have the style that has the retaining ring with the worm/band clamp around it. Is that the OEM, or is that what they put on to resolve the recall? Or are they the same thing?
I'm looking to replace the seal and get this fixed, but I'm not sure if I'm looking for this style or something different. Inspection is up in a couple days and this is for my daughter who gets her license in 2 weeks.
Thank you all so much!

I read this thread from cover to cover and it was helpful. However, it didn't answer the core question as to whether or not the parts changed 'style' or if they are the same ones, just new. When I try to find parts for it, they all look like the 'screw on' style, rather than the ring and band that I have, so I'm thoroughly confused.

Well, in their infinite wisdom. it appears that there is no part number shown for the later style band-style clamp. At least not on SNG Barratt's website anyway. Given that the clamp is "sacrificial" (based on the fact that the head of the worm drive snaps off at the correct torque is achieved) I would suggest that you take careful measurements and proceed to an auto parts store, or commercial HVAC supplier and see if you can find a replacement based upon the dimensions of the original part.
