temperature setting control
2003 Jag S type/4.2...the driver side climate control temperature setting works. the passenger side is always hot... I would like to replace the passenger sensor that regulates that 1/2 of the system. The dealer says I need an evaporation sensor ( but was not sure)... could someone provide the name of the sensor and the actual location for the passenger side. Air conditioning system is recently recharged...thanks john
Hi John. The culprit my actually be the dual climate control valve (DCCV) found under the hood; low on the passenger side. It is a common failure point that can eventually lead to the climate control module (CCM) to subsequently fail. The DCCV can be had for $85. If the problem persists this may mean failure of the CCM. You can seek the help of a stereo tech to pull out the interior climate control station. The CCM is attached to the back of the station. Inspection may reveal a few burned tracer leads. Simply apply heat soaks and solder a jumper wire over the burned tracer; reconnecting the components. The stereo tech should be able to recognize the faults and solder for you.
