I am working on my brother's 2000 Jaguar S-Type with the 4.0 V8. I ordered a new coolant temperature sensor from Advance Auto. After I removed the old temp sensor I noticed the threads from the old sensor were different than the treads from the new sensor. The rest of the new sensor looks the same and the size it the same, but for some reason I can't get it to thread. Is there something special I need to get to make this new sensor work or did I just totally order the wrong part? I included a picture. Old one on the left and new one on the right.
