Default Tie Rod snapped...

Anyone brake a tie rod before? I have an 04 S-type. I have OEM 19 in rims from an XF Jag. I think Im running 19's x 225's x 45's

I was trying to back into a parking space when I heard a thump. I didnt think much untill I tried going over 20 MPH, then it felt like I had a flat. I pulled over & inspected all four tyres, but all apeared to be fine. I slownly drove home where I was to do a better inspection. That is when discovered the tie rod had snapped & was hanging.

I called my Jag dealer for the tire rod but they told me that I needed the whole rack & pinion, which cost $1900. Can any tech tell me that I can replace the tie rod & not entire rack & pinion? Thanks...

Good God, what is it made from 'Unobtainium'?

BTW, it is a TIE rod.

I'll move you over to the S Type section.

momo...Yes, they are. Their prices are hard to beat - just keep in mind these parts are not OES Jaguar items...
