(Timing belt) Replacement Jaguar S Type Question

Hi I have a Jaguar 2005 S type diesel auto sport and it has a full service history just having a major service by jag at 60k Its now due a service at 75000.

Question is when does the timing belt need to be changed? When I asked Jag they said not till just under 100k on these. Then I read something the other day and this person said due at 70k. Now in a confused state of mind need a clear answer on this as I have no idea?

Honestly you'd do much better to ask on the UK forum. The diesel wasn't sold in USA/Canada.

Do the diesel engines have timing belts? Over here in the USA, the gasoline engines have timing chains, not belts. In my experience, with proper engine care a timing chain should last the life of the vehicle....

Thanks for the reply, yes they have timing belts over here on the diesel version. Great engines I am quite surprised they did not sell over there.
I will make further enquires thanks for the responses.
