Default Tire recommendations for STR?

Car came with the Continential Extreme Contact and replaced them them with Michelin MXM4.
Has anyone tried the new Michelin Pilot Super Sports?
I'm running the Michelin PS2 on my Corvette and love them (but low treadware rating) and not sure I want to put them on the jag.

What other tires give a good balance of Ride and Handling?
Has anyone tried the Bridgestone Pole Potenza Pole Postion?

Please use Search as tires get discussed in depth from time to time.

Bear in mind the wheel (rim) size makes a big difference, too.

I use them on my STR, 3rd set now I think. I usually end up replacing them from due to bubbles before they wear out.

Default Tire Update: Continental Extreme DWs

(Continental Extreme DWs)
These tires have worked out great for me so far. The primary reasons I selected these tires are:
1) quite running and
2) had good wear characteristics.

The following descriptions and ratings are my personal opinions.
- Continental Sport Contact -
- Toyo Proxes T1R -
- Continental Extreme DW -

Quiet Running-
Continental Sport Contact: (new 8/10) (worn out 7/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (new 5/10) (worn out 2/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (new 9/10) (worn out to be determined?)
Over bumps and expansion joints the Continental Extreme DWs are much less jarring than the Continental Sport Contacts & Toyo T1Rs.

Wear-
Continental Sport Contact: 26K miles, worn out, acceptable noise
Toyo Proxes T1R: 14K miles, some noise when new, loud when worn out
Continental Extreme DW: 15K miles, a lot of tread remains and still low noise

Wet & Dry Grip-
Continental Sport Contact: (wet 7/10) (dry 8/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (wet 10/10) (dry 8/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (wet 7/10) (dry 8/10)
None of these tires are intended for snow or cold weather use. When expecting snow, I suggest leaving the car parked or get another set of wheels and tires. I went with a slightly wider rear tire 285/35/R18 and stuck with 245/40/R18 for the front for the last two sets of tires.

High Speed Handling-
Continental Sport Contact: (wet 7/10) (dry 8/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (wet 10/10) (dry 8/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (wet 8/10) (dry 8/10)

Appearance-
Continental Sport Contact: (sidewall 8/10) (tread 8/10)
Toyo Proxes T1R: (sidewall 9/10) (tread 10/10)
Continental Extreme DW: (sidewall 5/10) (tread 8/10)

Summary of Continental Extreme DWs after more than 15K miles they are working well on my STR. They are very quiet and the amount of tread remaining is just amazing.
