The drain plug is easy to get to. The fill plug is in a tight spot.
You'll need an allen wrench (dont know the size of the top of my head) that you need to grind down so you can fit it in the fill plug.
Putting the new fluid in will be a challange your first time.
Best way is to get a pump and hose to put the fluid in.
If you think you can do all that, let me know and I'll give you more details.

I'm also interested in this info Envy. I've always done all my own fluid changes for previous vehicles myself, but I'm new to Jag's...Any info is greatly appreciated.

plus the tranny has to be at a certain temp.. if too much or too little fluid is installed... tranny will not shift correctly. need to know exact temp of fluid.. with ids.. to get the perfect amount in there when cold and hot.wiring up a oldfuel pump is the fastest and easiest way to get it in tho...

You grind down half of the short end of the allen, i keep forgeting the size of the allen.
The fill plug is tight, so you'll need a wrench or small pipe for leverage to break it loose.
The ZF fluid is a lightweight mineral oil type. I'm not sure if there is a sythetic equivalent.
I would only reccomend the fluid offered by Jag. I'll see if there is a cheaper alternative for fluid.
I should probably do a write up to make it easier for you guys.

Probably a stupid question, but if you need to grind down the short end of an allen wrech to get the fill bolt off, how the hell do you get a tube in to fill it? Must be a pretty tight fit and it seems like it would be hard to tell if you have the right amount of fluid in. Also, are you guys not measuring the temp or is there some way to do this w/o the Jag scan tool? Thanks again!
