Default Transmission Additive Source Found (maybe) (c2c37157/L)

The pic is attached and here is a link to who made this stuff, but it does appear to be a different quantity than what the TSB refers to.

Life Automotive Products - Smart Blend Synthetics, Trans Flush, ATF Products

Opinions?

Perhaps Brutal, Bob or one of the other Jag techs will see this and comment.

Thanks

When the ZF additive was readily available, I believe it was sold in one-litre bottles. I would not trust that little squirt tube you pictured to be able to deliver nearly enough fluid to make any difference in performance (remember, the system capacity is 10 litres). My experience with both of our Jaguars has been that when the "ZF squawk" begins to occur, a ZF 6HP26 drain-and-fill conversion to Mercon SP ATF immediately silences it. And I followed up on both vehicles with another Mercon SP drain-and-fill within six months of the first one in order to ensure that the vast majority of the ATF in the system is relatively fresh Mercon SP....

Since the LIFEGAURD 6 already has the additive, I just use that.
I have not used the additive alone since Jaguar discontinued it.

Thanks- The TSB refers to one liter- so I was very confused by the part number and showing that small tube. I agree with you that the small amount would be suspect.

Bob:

Thanks.

My understanding , based on several people here who have spoken to ZF is that the Lifeguard 6 does NOT now contain the additive. You can look at post #49 and 50 here:
