Having major issues with my moms 05 Stype, took it in to the dealership they changed the fluid out seem to think its the whole trans but, and recommended and rebuild which is not a option. Sadly my mom didnt ask them for the trans codes if any that came up. at start slow drives shfts fine any major throtle and just kicks outa gear or clutch disengages. drives fine on the freeway no probs just getting to speed. any thoughts?

Since the transmission shifts normally during lower speeds but drops out of hook-up, this may indicate a worn torque converter or a failed shift solenoid(s). The car needs to return to Jaguar or an independent Jag mechanic to draw the transmission trouble codes.

 

Being an 05, it'll have a ZF 6HP26. Maybe just low on oil, but yes could be as above. I would not take it to a Jag place unless just to check the TCM for codes because they're not trans experts so any fix there would be uncertain and expensive.

If you can DIY there's info in the stickies here, else find a dedicated trans shop who regularly work on what is now quite a common trans (fitted to many cars, try Search here or google with Audi and 6HP26).
