So, I have a 2000 s-type. It's not sealed for life???

None of them are safely described as sealed for life!

Yours should be the Ford 5R55N and is a box well-known to tranny shops. Call around and you shouldn't have trouble getting quotes to service it. (Or do it yourself.)

the squak has been fixed with a trans fluid addative since dec 2007
the part number is c2c37157
