Default Transmission help

Good day my fellow jag enthusiasts!

I'd like to change my transmission pan, filter and oil for my
2005 Jaguar S type R. Can somebody please provide me with a link or somewhere where I can find this entire package for cheap! I'd appreciate it. Thank you!

Be sure to replace the electrical connector/valve body sleeve while you are there. Its cheap and can save a future hassle.

Do you know the correct way to do it?

Do you have the JTIS so you can check?

My step father is a certified mechanic but if there is a 'correct' way of doing it I'd love to know so I can shadow him and potentially guide him (will be challenging- he's been in the game long)

In addition, please educate me in regards to JTIS, not sure what that is. Thank you!

Sure! The JTIS (Jaguar Technical Information Services) is the factory shop manual and it's free on this site. Just look at the top of the forum and look at the sticky threads that have JTIS in the name.

We just had it very much improved so it's easier to install.

Nothing against your dad but he does not have clue (Unless he is a Jaguar mechanic?) so get the directions and do it correctly.

Yes, I bought the kit from The CTS too. Added the sleeve. Came to $291.38 delivered to my door.

You might also consider having on hand a few new pan bolts as almost everyone reports stripping a few during removal. I replaced all 21; bought them from my local Jag dealership.

Another vote for CTSC. I got my service kit from them also. Best price I could find. I replaced the sleeve and upgraded the pan bolts to.

I had the transmission service done by the legendary "Brutal"!

Wish I lived near Brutal. I did not tackle the trans job myself but instead bought the kit and bolts and had my mechanic do it, but only after I insisted he watch the ZF video on YouTube. He assures me he did it correctly and, so far so good.

Yes I am a bit spoiled and I also had him do my alignment.

I normally do everything myself so it's been a change for me.
