Default Transmission pan

Hello
I have a 2004 s type 4.2 v8 6 speed automatic
I believe it has the zf 6hp 26 transmission fited
Transmission pan is leaking have found a small crack in it
I can not find a part number or the pan as as it looks like the previous owner tried to fix it with gasket gue

Does anybody know what the part number is for the pan
I did find one in new Zealand but was for a bmw that has a zf 6hp 26 fitted
And the shop said that would not fit my transmission
I am loseing around 260 mil of transmission fluid a week
Hopefully someone can help
Thanks

The BMW trans pan is the same for many models.
The replacement pan kits available should included the newer T40 pan bolts.

Here is one aftermarket source:

https://www.rockauto.com/en/parts/atp,B409,filter,8600

That is ATP brand, part number B409. That is what I found searching for your car by year and model.

Note that it is called a filter, not a pan. The filter is integral to the pan. If you search only for pan, you may come up empty.

You are in New Zealand, right? With any luck, you can probably find something closer to home.

Do some searching on here about flushing the transmission fluid. There are plenty of threads.

You have a lot to learn about the topic and you'll be replacing the fluid plus gasket and the pan with filter. These are throw away items.
There are alternatives to both OEM parts and fluid that work quite well at substantial savings. I bought an after market pan it was of high quality. If you search for posts on this topic done my me you should get to the various threads on the topic.

$500 is absurd.

So get to work!

ATP B409 is an aftermarket part.
eBay sells kits.

I could buy a $90 kit and ship it to you for WAY less than $500.

Thanks I do know a lot about the zf transmission
And have rebuilt 4 in the past on my bmws
So know about what fluid to use and temperature on filling transmission
But this throw away filter/pan is new to me
As all my other zf transmissions have steel pans so you just replace filter and gasket
Thanks
But this

But this
A ways back there was a lot of discussion on here about all of this and we came up with a ZF supplier who had good prices and also had a steel pan option that would fit. But that option disappeared.
Getting the better updated bolts is important though they still rust ...

Most of these trannies used the plastic pan an embedded filter. Sealed for life time service LOL.

Anyway the one I used has been fine. I went with the Redline transmission fluid because it's good and I got a deal. The Jaguar branded price was just absurd.

I used a BMW kit from the company I mentioned for my Jag. Sorry I don't have a record of the actual kit number or purchase on my computer. It might be in some of those posts though.

Good luck.

Update:

I think this is the best kit as it includes everything you need. Just pan is probably not a wise choice as there can be other points such as that collar that can leak.

Check out Winrider's post above. Go with a metal pan and replaceable filter. Also look at Blairwire's post about the extra parts to replace while you are in there. Certainly replace the collar for the electric connection. I use Mercon SP. I also recommend a full flush. There is a huge discussion on that. My preferred way is in that discussion.
