Just wanted to update everyone...I got my car back today after the transmission service on my s type, and it is running better than it ever has. Every problem with the tranny disappeared. The jaguar dealership and a local shop both said my tranny was shot, but it wasn't at all just needed serviced.

Does anyone know a link to EXACT instructions on how to change the solenoid pack on a 2000 Jaguar S-Type V8? I live on Maui and the mechanics here have never done this particular job before.

It's an extremely common trans (Ford 5R55N) so any decent shop will already know it or have no problems. Its workshop manual will be available to trade and probably on the net if you look. People on here with no prioi experience have done DIY on it. Change mechanic!
