Default Two problems solved

Like many others the coolant leak was a constant problem. So I finally bought the valley hose. But instead of tearing down the top of the engine, I pulled the hose out from the rear of the superchargers, Install the new hose and ran it on the outside over the spark club cover. Works excellent.

Next problem solved was the locking gas lid. The problem wasn't the little catch on the door, the problem was the little solenoid in the release cable was all gummed up, I took it apart, cleaned up the inside and reassembled, works like new.

Ooh, excellent idea. I don’t have the SC V8, but have heard much moaning and wailing about how difficult it is to replace that hose. Got any pictures?

Great idea about running the hose on the outside. I would like to see it sometime as I also live in Mishawaka. I own a 2005 STR.

i did that on my 06 str right between the charge air cooler and intake tube. Then as i happily added coolant i saw that the other valley hose was leaking too. Had to pull the charger for that one. Great job in your repairs

Default No runs, no drips, no errors

The car runs better than ever, not even a drip on the garage floor, except for the AC evaporator.

As a tech in the electronics field, I was always looking for ways to save time and labor, and to me running that hose back in valley made no practical sense, besides I'm trying to make the car more reliable, not saleable.
